Palmerston School are very lucky to have its own caravan situated at Presthaven sands in North Wales. It gives great opportunities for class groups and other groups to spend time outside of the classroom. Students have the chance to travel across to North Wales, enjoy the seaside and experience life on a caravan site. Groups can stay from one night to a few nights. Students can help with catering and other domestic tasks. There are places of local interest, includig the seaside and Snowdonia.
Some class groups visit the caravan for a simple day out, returning in time for transport home.

School groups have also used the self catering facility provided to us by the Calvert Trust in Keswick. At present 16+ have the opportunity to spend a week at the Lake District site. There is room for up to 10 students with 4 staff. During their stay students help with the catering and cleaning and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities e.g walks, boat trips, visiting Whinlatter Centre and other local landmarks. The nearby leisure pool is a popular venue.
